About Us

Osborne United Basketball Club was established in November 2016 on the Mornington Peninsula.

The club’s inception was inspired by Samantha Browne, the general manager of MDBA, who approached Leah Andrews with a vision to expand club-based teams in the region. Leah recruited Raelene Field to begin the process, with Louise Barren, Tracy Vickers and Fiona Castles forming the first committee and Phil Nicholson and Andrew Mullens joining soon after.

Starting with just six teams, Osborne United has experienced remarkable growth and is projected to field up to 50 teams by the Summer 2024/25 season.

Our club caters to players of all ages, from Under 8s to senior men’s and women’s teams.

Osborne United Basketball Club is dedicated to fostering a love for the game, developing players’ skills, and creating a strong sense of community both on and off the court.

What began as a club built from parents of children who attended Osborne Primary School in Mount Martha, Osborne United now welcomes children from all over the Mornington Peninsula region.
